Marc Sharp, Executive Committee

Marc Sharp recently retired after a 31-year career as a regional real estate developer and builder. He moved to the Williamsburg area in 1987. During his career he served 21 years as President of Bush Development Corporation and remains the President of Greensprings Plantation, Inc. and Manager and Co-Owner of Plantation Group, LLC. Marc is also a Certified Public Accountant and practiced with the public accounting firm KPMG for 10 years.

Marc served on the Board of Williamsburg Community Hospital and was its last governing Chairman before the hospital merged with Sentara Health Care. He currently sits on the governing Board of Sentara Healthcare where he has served 12 years, including a 3-year term as the Board’s Chairman. He also served as the SHC Board's Chairman of the Medical Affairs, Compensation, and Governance Committees.

He has served on the Board of Child Development Resources for 24 years in various capacities including Chairman and Treasurer. He has served on the Board of Housing Partnerships for 19 years and is a past Chairman and currently the Treasurer. Other community service includes a 10-year term on the Board of the Williamsburg Community Foundation where he served as Treasurer and Vice Chairman. While serving on the Board of the local Friends of the National Park Service he arranged a donation of approximately 180 acres to increase the size of the Colonial Historical Park.

Marc served for six years in the U.S. Army, including service in Vietnam as a pilot in an attack helicopter unit. He graduated from the University of Virginia, with honors, in 1973.

Marc and Wilma have been married for 50 years and had five children and currently four grandchildren.
